The 17 SDGs formulated by the United Nations envision a global society where poverty, inequality, and climate change are things of the past. To Rwanda, a nation burgeoning with youthful energy, these goals hold particular significance. At KURA, our focus lies in three key areas – quality education, good health and well-being, and sustainable cities and communities.
Rwanda, known as the Land of a Thousand Hills, holds a rich tapestry of cultures and traditions. Yet, it is also a nation keen on innovation and modernization. Quality education (SDG 4) is our first stepping stone. We aim to foster an environment that promotes learning, critical thinking, and creativity, equipping Rwandan youth with the skills needed to drive Rwanda’s progress in the 21st century.
Health and well-being (SDG 3) are pivotal in ensuring a resilient and robust youth population. Accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare services are the underpinning foundations of a healthy society, providing the necessary physical and mental well-being for our achievers to excel.
Building sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11) aligns with Rwanda’s vision of becoming a hub of green urban development. We aim to provide our youth with the knowledge and tools to contribute to a sustainable and resilient urban future, ensuring Rwanda’s growth doesn’t compromise our environment or the quality of life of its people.
At KURA, we believe in Rwanda’s potential to achieve these ambitious targets. By localizing the global SDGs to our unique context, we are empowering our youth to lead Rwanda into a future where sustainable development isn’t an aspiration, but a reality. Let’s achieve together.
