80% of people working in Tour du Rwanda are young people. It is a challenging race that requires a lot of hard work and dedication, not just from the riders, but also from the many people who work behind the scenes to make the race a success.
Among these hard-working individuals are young people who are doing more than just a dirty job; they are dreaming of participating in the Tour de France, La Vuelta in Spain and also Giro d’Italia through networking in Tour du Rwanda.
For many young people in Rwanda, the Tour du Rwanda is not just a sporting event, but an opportunity to network and make connections with professionals and other people in the industry.
These young people work as mechanics, support staff, media and volunteers, and they are passionate about cycling and the opportunities it can bring.
One of these young people is Munyaneza Bertin, who has been working with the Tour du Rwanda and FERWACY for quite some time now. His aspirations however go even beyond Tour du Rwanda.
He is a hard working young man who dreams of one day participating in the Tour de France. He believes that working with the Tour du Rwanda has given him valuable experience and opportunities to network with professionals and others in the cycling industry.
Munyaneza is not alone in his aspirations. Many young people who are working in Tour du Rwanda are hoping to use their experience and connections to pursue careers in cycling, either as professional cyclists or in other roles such as team managers, coaches, or event organizers and staff.
For these young people, the Tour du Rwanda is not just a job, but a stepping stone to a brighter future. They are passionate about cycling and the opportunities it can bring, and they are willing to work hard and make sacrifices to achieve their dreams.
He said, “ What we want to do in Tour du Rwanda is to broaden our boundaries through networking with different people here.”
“I would like to participate in Tour de France, LaVuelta, and Giro d’Italia, [to me] that is growth.”
These young people remain optimistic and determined. They are inspired by the success stories of other African cyclists who have gone on to compete in international events such as the Tour de France and the Olympics, and they believe that with hard work and dedication, they too can achieve their dreams.
The young people working in Tour du Rwanda are not just doing a dirty job; they are pursuing their dreams and using the race as a platform to network and make connections in the cycling industry.
They are passionate about cycling and the opportunities it can bring, and they are willing to work hard and make sacrifices to achieve their goals. With their determination and perseverance, there is no doubt that many of these young people will go on to achieve great things in the world of cycling.
