Starting off the week on a positive note? Seems daunting, especially when you have a lot on your plate. However, developing some simple strategies and positive habits can make a significant difference in your overall well being.

I know, most of us wake up on Mondays dreading the week ahead. The stressful days at work, maybe even at school, having to deal with managers, clients, expectations and so many other challenges.

But, as a young person, it’s important to prioritize your physical and mental health, plan ahead, and cultivate positivity and gratitude to set yourself up for success.

The thing that usually helps with Monday blues or the ‘Lundiose’ as we like to call it is actually having a good restful Sunday– throw in a good night sleep as well.

This may seem like a small thing, but it can make a world of difference in how you feel and perform throughout the week.

Let me tell you something, when I do not have my relaxing Sundays I have anxiety just thinking about Monday.

By sticking to a normal sleep routine and avoiding staying up too late on weekends, you can ensure that you feel rested and energized Monday morning.

Another strategy for starting off the week well is to plan ahead. This includes revising your goals and priorities for the week, creating a schedule or to-do list, reviewing your calendar, and anticipating any potential obstacles or challenges. By taking the time to plan ahead, you can feel more organized and prepared for the week ahead.

In addition to planning ahead, it’s important to take care of your physical and mental health. This includes eating a balanced and nutritious diet, exercising regularly, practicing mindfulness or meditation to reduce stress and increase focus, connecting with friends and family, and engaging in activities that bring you joy and relaxation.

I know what you are thinking, “who has time for all that?”

You do not have to meditate–cause who has got time for that– you can just make sure you are giving yourself some little bit of kindness. By prioritizing your health and wellbeing, you can ensure that you have the energy and focus needed to tackle whatever comes your way.

I did try meditation once, even though it is a weird concept it kind of actually works somehow but that is a story for another day.

Lastly, cultivate positivity and gratitude to help you start off the week well. Start the day with a positive affirmation or intention, practice gratitude by writing down three things you are thankful for each day, surround yourself with positive and supportive people, and celebrate your successes and accomplishments, no matter how small.

If you focus on the positive and cultivate gratitude, you will shift your mindset and approach the week ahead well.

In a nutshell, starting the week well is all about taking small steps to prioritize your physical and mental health, plan ahead, and cultivate positivity and gratitude. By developing these habits and strategies, you can set yourself up for success in all areas of your life. Remember to be kind to yourself and celebrate your progress along the way.
