They say it’s the season to be jolly, but are you? During the holiday season, we often expect to be the happiest, but this is not always the case.
If you were sad, I doubt it will change because it is finally Christmas. Days and times change, but the emotions you feel do not. However, there are a few things you can do to cheer yourself up.
Cultivate gratitude
Gratitude does not imply pretending everything is fine or denying what is wrong.
Cultivating gratitude involves choosing to devote your time and attention to what you value. This is critical for gaining control of your experience and, ultimately, your well-being. During this season, look for things to be grateful for, no matter how small.

Do things for others
Helping those in need of extra support, love, and care is perhaps the most important thing we can do to brighten up the holidays. No act of kindness is too small, whether it is donating to a local organization, donating to a charity, or sponsoring a family in need.
You can help fight food insecurity by donating to the most vulnerable communities, or by finding a food bank near you to make a direct food donation or financial contribution, or by volunteering your time.
