Ritha Ingabire, the audacious one, refuses to conform

The more you conform to social norms, the more you suppress your own creativity. To go to great lengths, you must defy any limitations that may be placed in your path.

Some people spend their entire lives trying to conform; women avoid being loud and opinionated because it is considered a masculine trait, and many avoid being emotive and passionate because it is considered a feminine trait.

But those who conform do not make history. Those who are audacious make history.

Ingabire Ritha is an example of an audacious person, one who goes beyond and above boundaries, even jumping the entire thing.

She became a driver at a young age, which inspired her to come up with a unique idea that would set her apart even if people turned their heads here and there. This is her story.

Ingabire started driving at a young age, and after graduating from high school, she struggled to find work, but everything changed when she got her driver’s license.

This young lady then began working as a driver for various companies, gaining valuable experience and honing her skills. She began to think about how many ways she could advance in her career after a successful start.

Throughout her journey, Ingabire claims she was discouraged simply because she was a woman.

“I was fortunate enough to learn to drive a car when I was young, and then I went to work for my license and started to go on the road, but people told me I couldn’t do it,” she explained.

The words did have an effect on her, but as I previously stated, she is bold. She wasn’t going to stop because people were talking; she was going to feed off their words and actually prove to the entire world that she was going to make it.

“When I went to apply for jobs, you’d see people who were scared; they’d look at me as if I was going to cause an accident.”

However, she was given the opportunity to assert herself and demonstrate that her skills and expertise are not limited by her gender. “The more I did, the more they paid attention.”

Ingabire was not your average driver; she had many dreams and goals. She aspired to truly revolutionize her field.

She had an idea in 2019 that would change the course of her life.

In our interview, she stated that she grew up loving the work of transportation and wished to see the advancement of technology as well as the advancement of women.

That is how she became a driver; she became quickly passionate about it and thus identified the various gaps in her industry.

According to her, one of the gaps she noticed was that drivers were not “paid much attention” in terms of opportunities and facilitation.

Putting them together was her way of keeping up with the world’s current fast pace through technology.

She decided to create a platform where drivers could be easily linked to clients after noticing that technology was becoming a big thing and that people were actually getting opportunities through online services.

The idea was to assist certain people who might require drivers on occasion or in an emergency.

Ingabire’s thought process was that there are some people who do not necessarily want to hire drivers full-time but may require them on occasion, such as after a night out or when you need someone to drive you to the hospital.

“It happened once to me. A person could be home sick and unable to return home because they do not have a car. “If people can order food online, can’t they also be linked to drivers who can drive them at any time?” I wondered.

This went on without a hitch until 2020. When Covid-19 hit the world, she clearly realized that technology was still moving and that it could be a powerful tool even though travel had ceased in many parts of the world.

Ingabire gathered 30 drivers and trained them to form a cohesive team.

With that in mind, she decided to expand her project to connect drivers and car owners by developing Rithacabbs, an app.

The app not only connects drivers with car owners, but also drivers looking for work.

Through her app, Ingabire has changed her life and the lives of those around her. She would not be where she is today if she had confirmed these ideas. She would not be who she is today without him.

Norms and the status quo squash a lot of talent. You should not base your passion in 2022 on how society defines you.

Go out there, be bold, and leave your permanent mark on the world.
