Meet Arlette Munayana, a spunky and adventurous young woman who has joined other women in breaking gender norms and stereotypes by pursuing a career in the field of security. Yes, you read that right!
This fierce girl has decided to pursue her passion and has been making waves in a predominantly male field. Munyana’s story inspires us all to break free from societal shackles and pursue our dreams, no matter how unconventional they may be.
She is the deputy leader of a security company named King’s Horse. They provide security services for different events.
Her journey started when she decided to take up a job as a security personnel. It wasn’t an easy decision for her as the field was dominated by men, and there were very few women in the field. However, her determination and passion for the job kept her going. Despite her challenges, Arlette stuck to her guns and worked hard to prove she was as capable as any man in the field.
One of her big breaks came when she was selected to work as security personnel for Tour du Rwanda, an annual cycling race that takes place in Rwanda.
This was a massive opportunity for Munyana, but it also came with its own set of challenges. The race covered a large area, and Munyana had to be on her toes all the time to ensure the safety of the cyclists and the spectators.
She was more than up to the task. She proved to be a natural at her job, and her colleagues were impressed with her professionalism and her ability to handle pressure. Munyana was no longer just a woman in a male-dominated field – she was a respected team member who had proven her worth.
Her journey was not without its share of obstacles. She said it is a job requiring extreme patience, especially for a girl.
She said, “This is not an easy job, especially for us women. It is tough. It requires a lot of patience.”
Munyana refused to let the negative side of the job get to her. She remained focused on her work and continued to prove her worth. Eventually, her colleagues came to respect her for her skills and her dedication to her job.
Her story is a testament to the fact that gender norms can be broken. Women can pursue any career they want and excel in it.
It is time to let go of our preconceived notions and allow women to explore their passions and interests, regardless of whether they fall into traditional gender roles or not.
She said she still has to face the fact that many people think she is not suited for the job.
She said, “So many people still do not understand that a girl can be a security guard. Sometimes people do not take us seriously.”
In our conversation, she recalled how much people tend to think they can overpower her because she is a girl. But Munyana is not one to be intimidated. She says she always finds a way to get them to back off.
It is time to encourage girls to break free from societal restraints and pursue their dreams. We need to empower them to become firm, independent women who can take on any challenge that comes their way. Arlette’s story is a shining example of what can be achieved when we let go of our biases and give women the opportunity to succeed.
So, what can we learn from Munyana’s story? First, we need to believe in ourselves and our abilities. We should never let anyone tell us that we cannot do something just because of our gender. We must be confident in our abilities and work hard to prove ourselves.
Secondly, we need to support and encourage girls who want to pursue unconventional careers. We need to create an environment where girls feel empowered to pursue their passions and interests, regardless of what society says.
Finally, we need to challenge traditional gender roles and norms. We need to create a world where men and women are treated equally and have equal access to opportunities. Only then can we create a society that is truly inclusive and empowering for everyone.
Munyana’s story reminds us that we can achieve great things if we believe in ourselves and work for them.
We need more women like her to break gender norms and show the world what women are truly capable of. So let’s all be inspired by her story and work towards creating a more inclusive and empowering world for everyone.
