WHO Young Professionals Programme

The Young Professionals Programme (YPP) is a recruitment initiative aiming to increase the representation of nationals from Least Developed Countries in WHO’s workforce and develop capacity from and for developing countries through a structured programme with clear learning objectives.

This Programme provides talented, highly qualified professionals with the capacity and opportunity to compete for long-term WHO positions or positions in international or national public health institutions.

Young Professionals will be assigned to regular WHO positions and will be fully immersed in WHO’s technical work. To enhance their knowledge and widen their professional network, the Young Professionals may be posted in a different WHO office on short-term learning assignments.

WHO Junior Professional Officer Programme

The Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Programme is a great opportunity for young talented professionals to get a foothold in the UN system. The Programme provides young professionals pursuing a career in development with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in multilateral technical cooperation and international development.

WHO welcomes JPOs in both health technical and administrative areas of work and in-country offices, regional offices, and headquarters. Research Intern- University of Global Health Equity (UGHE)

The Research Intern will work on a Research Programme entitled “Effects of maternal nutrition during pregnancy on perinatal and child nutritional outcomes in Rwanda: a birth cohort study” funded by Catholic Relief Services, Rwanda.

The study is currently recruiting pregnant women in the 2nd trimester in 7 districts in Rwanda. The ideal candidate for this position is highly self-motivated and passionate about research, with attention to detail and organizational skills.

S/he will work across multiple departments at UGHE and health facilities within Rwanda and our study collaborators in Germany.

Social Media Officer – UNDP

As a social media Officer for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), your primary responsibility will be to manage and implement the organization’s social media strategy across various platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok. Below are some of the specific tasks and responsibilities you would undertake in this role.

Develop a creative and content-driven social media plan for the duration of the internship.

The plan should include daily posts, use of multimedia, engagement of influencers, calendar of events including commemoration of UN Days, etc, for various social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.

Research Assistant – University of Global Health Equity (UGHER)

The Research Assistant will contribute in many ways to support research projects and related activities such conduct literature reviews, collecting and analyzing data, attending meetings and seminars, preparing reports, drafting manuscripts; and supporting the implementation of a recently funded project on digital rehabilitation capacity building in higher education.

The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is highly self-motivated and passionate about research, with superior attention to detail and organizational skills. S/he will work across multiple departments at UGHE and must be exceedingly well organized, diplomatic, flexible, resourceful, and proactive.

Internships

WHO Internship Programme

WHO’s Internship Programme offers a wide range of opportunities for students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds to gain insight into the WHO technical and administrative programs and enrich their knowledge and experience in various areas, thereby contributing to the advancement of public health.

Internship positions are available in various areas of work and in different organizational locations (regional offices, country offices, or headquarters).

WHO provides all interns with medical and accident insurance coverage during the duration of the internship period. As of January 2020, WHO also provides a living allowance to eligible selected interns who need financial support.

Communications Intern- African Leadership University

ALU is looking for a creative and enthusiastic communications intern to join the team to implement creative ideas to build brand awareness. The successful candidate should have knowledge of social media marketing and be a good graphic designer.

The CRA Communications intern will assist in the development of marketing collaterals under the supervision of the Program Manager. You will be responsible for developing content to create and build awareness about the CRA programs. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) researching valuable content, building social media campaigns, and preparing promotional materials.

IT operations-Technician Intern- One Acre Fund

We are looking for a competent well-rounded entry-level IT person with 1+ year of experience in end-user support, endpoints(Laptops and Tablets) hardware & software and network troubleshooting. You will work with the Endpoint and Service Desk teams to facilitate support of IT endpoints and ensure all tickets assigned to you are resolved before breaching the Service level agreements. You will join a team of two other technicians and one Admin in Rwanda and report to the Rwanda Country IT Operations Lead.

Rwanda Procurement Intern- One Acre Fund

African Union Youth Delegate on Humanitarian Action

The AU Humanitarian Youth Forum is a fully funded opportunity for young people to participate in and contribute to humanitarian responses on the African continent.

The forum aims to strengthen the pattern of humanitarian responses in Africa, promote ownership and leadership of youth on humanitarian issues, and mobilize African youth for action on humanitarian development.
